Job Description
Graduate Research Assistant (GRA) position in the Space and Geophysics Laboratory (SGL) of the Applied Research Laboratories:
- Develop algorithms and software in the areas of Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) and Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI), advancing the state of the art in space geodesy.
- Participate in field experiments by collecting, processing and analyzing data from a novel radio interferometer consisting of a GNSS software-defined radio receiver and a 25-meter VLBA radio telescope.
- Help develop software for position and timing solutions from sequential GNSS satellite observations, leading to an advancement of our understanding of the Earth’s surface and interior.

Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information at the level appropriate to the project requirements of the position.
- Overall GPA of at least 3.0 is expected.
- Pursuing a graduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace, Geodesy, or related field.
- Research interest in radio astronomy, VLBI, GNSS, geodesy, or related field.
- Experience in programming in object-oriented languages (C++ or Python).
- Experience with data analysis and visualization tools such as Matlab or Python is a plus.
